Parliamentary demands for rapid development of the irrigation system and maximizing the utilization of water resources

During its meetings next week, the Committee on Agriculture and Irrigation will open the file of the development of the irrigation system at the level of the Republic through discussing a number of requests for briefing by members in this regard.
1. The waste of public funds and the emergence of some technical problems in the field irrigation development projects.
2. The slow implementation of the irrigation development project in the lands of the valley and the Delta especially in light of the scarcity of water.
3. The plan of the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation for the development of field irrigation of the old lands in the valley and the delta and to maximize the utilization of flood waters and rain, one of the axes of the water balance.
4. Claim the independence of the unit of field irrigation development projects of the Land Improvement Agency.
5. Deerib Najm Agriculture Farm in Sharkia Governorate has been affected by the payment of taxes against the irrigation project developed on the Deebjieh canal and the Sea of Dhahr, despite its interruption, and its non-operation until now, which drives the farmers towards the use of sewage water in irrigating their farm.
6 – Stop the irrigation works developed in most agricultural areas in Kafr Al-Dawar, as well as the lack of running some of the electric irrigation stations and the operation of drainage covered some villages of Kafr El-Dawar in Beheira Governorate.
