Parliament recommends boosting allocations for development projects at Alexandria Port

The Committee on Transport and Communications of the House of Representatives, headed by MP Hisham Abdul Wahid, recommended the need to consolidate the allocations of development projects that are implemented in the port of Alexandria, as these projects have a positive impact on the revenues of the Commission.

In its report on the draft budget and plan of Alexandria Port Authority for the fiscal year 2019/2020, the committee said that despite the implementation of many port development projects, the volume of revenues of Alexandria Port Authority is still not commensurate with the possibilities and the size of the port assets.

It is noteworthy that the government plan during the fiscal year 2019/2020 of the Authority includes the completion of a number of projects related to the work of the construction and the establishment of new links in addition to the mechanization, primarily the construction and development of a multi-purpose marine locomotive with a force of 80 tons, the supply of pollution control and the establishment of three warehouses structures The development of the first and sixth zones, the rehabilitation of the wave barrier, the trenching of the docks and the completion of the construction of two links between the ports of Alexandria and Dekheila on the international coastal road.
