Parliament approves establishment of science and technology finance body to link scientific research with society

Accidents

The House of Representatives approved the first and second articles of a bill submitted by the government to establish a public body to finance science, technology and innovation.

Article 1 provides for the establishment of a public body for the financing of science, technology and innovation, which shall be followed by the minister concerned with scientific research and based in the governorate of Cairo and granted the right to establish other branches throughout the Republic by a decision of its board of directors.

Article [2]: The objective of establishing the Authority is to finance and stimulate scientific research, technology and innovation, and to link scientific research and community development through the priorities set by the State for scientific research.

The text of the articles as approved by the Council as follows

Article 1

"A public body called the "Science, Technology and Innovation Financing Authority" shall be established, which shall have a legal personality.
