Barcelona legend Lionel Messi has said he will fight for an international championship with Argentina.

"I would like to retire from football and I will win something with Argentina. I will try again and again, stumble, come back for my dream and fight for my dream," the Barcelona star and the Argentina team said in an interview with Fox Sports.

"I told the coach when I arrived at the team camp that I was considered a member of this group," Messi added.

"I miss this duo," said Messi. "In their presence, I knew we would win in the matches, regardless of the opponent we have."

Lionel Messi is currently in the Argentina camp preparing for the Copa America 2019 tournament in Brazil this month, and Barcelona's goal is to lead the tango to the continental title.

Lionel Messi has failed in previous years to win any championship with Argentina, losing the Copa America twice and the 2014 World Cup final against Germany.
