For some security reasons, and in order to maintain public security, some criminal courts have to hold hearings of some of the cases they hear in a secret session. There may be fear of the witness's life being heard by the court or of public security.

The court uses its legal right, authorized by Article 286 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, which allows the court to hold the proceedings, or some of them in a private session, or to prevent a certain group from attending it, as required by the interest and public order.

In the case of "assassinating the Attorney-General" Martyr Hisham Barakat, the court ordered the doctors of the Nozha Hospital who received the martyr after the incident in a secret session.
