The Government is implementing the plan for the development of informal settlements, together with the establishment of new urban communities, with the aim of eliminating the slums once and for all by 2030. In this regard, the plan for the new year 2019/2020 will continue its efforts. In the following:

1. Uncertain areas: 85,000 housing units are planned to be developed in 62 unsafe areas, including 17 governorates. The number of targeted citizens in the program of building safe housing as an alternative to informal settlements reached 43.6 thousand beneficiaries during the year 2019/2020.

2 – Development of random markets: Targeted during the year 2019/2020 the implementation of about 23 markets in 12 randomly selected governorates.

3. Unplanned areas: aims to provide the necessary services and facilities (electricity, water and sanitation) to raise the standard of living of the population in these areas. The target is to develop an area of ​​536.5 thousand feddans in the total governorates.
