Exhibition 421, the local art and design destination in Abu Dhabi, has announced the launch of a program of art and design activities throughout June 2019, which will include the opening of the new exhibition "Lest we forget: global family photos", a workshop on photo-inspired drawing, Creative Week "inspired by the exhibition" Traveling Marks: The Travels of Arabic Fonts "in addition to the return of a series of fiction to read the stories of children in their closing ceremony.
The exhibition, 421, will host the exhibition "Lest we forget: the universality of family photos", which opens on June 12 to explore commonalities in a wide range of family photos that are not interconnected between the UAE and Spain. The exhibition will be held in collaboration with the Spanish artist Maria Jose Rodriguez Escolar and an evaluation by Dr. Michel Babmling. The exhibition includes a variety of images that are not related to each other, taken by families living in two separate worlds between the United Arab Emirates and Spain during the last decades of the twentieth century. The exhibition seeks to explore the common denominators of experience, thoughts and human feelings in all the pictures presented.

The exhibition will open on 12 June from 6:30 pm, preceded by a discussion session with HE Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, Minister of State, as keynote speaker, and the technical value of Dr. Michel Bambling; and the artist Maria José Rodríguez Escolar; : 30 pm to 6:30 pm. The seminar is open to the public, free of charge.
The photo-drawing workshop: Graphite and Charcoal with Glazing will take place on June 15 with Maria Jose Rodriguez Escolar, where participants will learn a range of painting techniques and recognize the simple differences of lighting distribution and shadows in drawings using charcoal, graphite and glazing. The workshop welcomes participants aged 16 years and above.
