Turkish newspaper Zaman reported that retail prices in Istanbul rose 19.27 percent in May, while wholesale prices rose by 23.56 percent over the same period last year.
According to the opposition daily, the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce's wage earners index showed an average annual increase of 17.33 percent from May, while the wholesale price index recorded an average annual increase of 22.77 percent.
