Education Development Fund: Expansion of the establishment of technological universities during the next stage
Dr. Ahmed Al-Hayawi, Secretary-General of the Education Development Fund under the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, praised the issuance of the Presidential Decree and the publication in the Official Gazette on June 3 establishing the technological universities.
He said that this step is the result of great and continuous efforts by the Ministry of Higher Education and is an important step in the development of a new course for technical education in Egypt, pointing out that President Abdel-Fattah Al-Sisi pointed to the need to link education and teaching curricula in universities on the labor market. He added in a press release today that technological universities aim to open new paths for those enrolled in the technical education system in Egypt and encourage high school students to join technological universities.
The technological universities are a combination of applied and theoretical studies. They include technological disciplines in areas more connected to the labor market, such as construction and maintenance, health and applied sciences, hotels and tourism services, electronic industries, engineering design, agriculture and food industries. The university will also provide diplomas and educational studies to train trainers and teachers to work in technical and vocational schools and vocational, technical, technological and technological training centers, stressing that technological universities will help develop technical education in Egypt and attract many students to it.
He pointed out that the Education Development Fund will work in the coming period to expand the establishment of technological universities in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education to qualify youth for the labor market, especially that the Fund had similar experiences through the technological complexes established in several governorates in cooperation with a foreign partner.
