After the US embargo, Huawei is heading to Africa to make up for its losses

science and technology

While the United States is leading a Western drive to ignore Huawei and stop dealing with it because of some security concerns and blacklisted, China's technology company has sought to strengthen its position in Africa.

According to the scientific site "Phys", the United States urged countries to avoid Huawei and already abandoned many companies, including Google for the company, which triggered a crisis because of the decision to stop the operating system "Android" on most smart phones belonging to Huawei.

As the crisis mounts, the question arises: Will the escalating battle lead to African countries choosing between China as the continent's largest trading partner or the United States?

"For African countries, this trade war could end with a binary choice, it would be very difficult for Africa to ignore Huawei," said Ali Khan Sacho, an independent economic analyst in Nairobi.

Huawei, which is now a major factor in the tensions between the United States and China, is seeking to strengthen its relations in Africa, where last week it signed an agreement to strengthen its cooperation with the African Union.

"This was a way of showing that Huawei is still in Africa and that it wants to remain a major player by positioning it in this important sector," said Robin Neizer, an economist and specialist on Africa.

Huawei has established itself throughout Africa since its launch in Kenya in 1998 and now operates in 40 countries, providing 4G networks to more than half of the continent.

It will also showcase the fifth generation network 5G, The next-generation mobile network that will transmit data at greater speeds.
