During the opening MARS conference, organized by Amazon in Las Vegas, USA, the "Mini Spot" robot dog was introduced to the stage to show its ability to climb stairs, hold things and move around.

However, he said he hoped the robot would be available for purchase by sometime this year but had not set a date for official release.

"We're making some final adjustments to the design, where the topical robots can be controlled amazingly by using a simple portable controller that lets users tell the robot where to go." The SPOT can move in any direction but its head is still steady.

"There are cameras on every aspect of the device, which makes it particularly useful in roles in construction sites to look for risks or open doors," he said.
