Stability of Chinese car sales in 2019

China's new car sales will reach 28.1 million vehicles this year, unchanged from the levels recorded in 2018, state news agency Xinhua reported.
According to a report jointly issued by the China Automobile Manufacturers Association and other parties on Sunday, sales of passenger cars will reach 23.7 million, a level similar to that of the registrar last year.
However, the report said sales of new-powered vehicles are likely to remain positive and grow about 27%, to record 1.6 million cars from 1.26 million cars in 2018.
The country's auto market shrank last year for the first time in more than 20 years, due to weak domestic demand and trade war with the United States, and monthly sales have so far fallen for ten consecutive months.
