Health and Medical

NEW YORK [Reuters Health] – Advanced age raises the risk of many diseases, but for adults with gout, younger people are more likely to have a serious blood clot, according to a new scientific study..

According to the US medical site "MedicalXpress", A British study showed that gout patients of any age have a 25% greater risk of deep vein thrombosis in the veins in the first ten years after diagnosis.

"Gout is the most common form of inflammatory arthritis, affecting more than 4 percent of adults in the United States and developing in people with high levels of uric acid in the blood.

In this study, researchers compared approximately 62,000 gout patients with an equal number of adults free of gout, and found that the risk of blood clotting was largely limited in gout patients under 50 years of age.
