Luxor Health raises the level of readiness to face the heat wave
Dr. Abdel-Gawad, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Luxor, announced the lifting of the maximum readiness to face the current heat wave and the following waves expected to occur during the current summer
The Directorate confirmed that the hospitals are ready to receive cases of heat stress, and was alerted to all hospitals to receive any case of heat exhaustion or heat stroke and treatment immediately.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health – in a press statement – that all hospitals are ready where there are air-conditioned rooms to receive all hospitals and trained nurses to deal with such cases, and was confirmed the availability of heat reducers and solutions and other methods of treatment of heat stress and sun strikes, The directors of the health departments should also equip all family medicine units at the governorate level with a readiness to receive any case throughout the day.
The Department of Culture, Health, Information and Population Education was instructed to interact with citizens and to give educational seminars and advised them to wear light and loose cotton clothes with light colors and away from artificial fibers and not to be exposed to direct sunlight especially in the afternoon with drinking large amounts of liquids and presence in places where air conditioning or fans Patients with diabetes, stress and other chronic diseases should consult a physician or outpatient in hospitals and health units.
Dr. Christine Gerges, Director of the Department of Health Information in Luxor, confirmed that heat stress occurs as a result of the body's loss of a large amount of fluids and salts when exposed to hot air for a long time, especially when exerting hard work, which leads to disturbance in the functions of the body. The general symptoms of the cases are headache, Balance and nausea with severe sweating, frost and coldness in the body, contraction and acute muscle pain, general weakness with pulse speed, breathing, vision disorder, thirst sensation with low blood pressure.
The director of media, on avoiding the severe heat wave sweeping the country, noting that we should stay away from some foods as much as possible in hot weather days, including meat, fish, eggs, shrimp and seafood in general because it increases the heat of the body, which may cause stomach disorders with hyperthermia And not to eat grilled foods in general under high temperatures because they are working on warming the body.
