In one of the most powerful security strikes, the drug and organized crime sector has been able to take legal action against 19 gangsters with a total of 85 defendants who have resorted to money-laundering the proceeds of their criminal activities referred to in several ways.
The money laundering by the defendants of the proceeds of their crimes in the field of illicit trafficking in narcotics, firearms and unlicensed munitions was estimated at 1,166 billion one hundred and sixty six million pounds, and legal proceedings were taken.
This came within the framework of the Ministry's efforts to combat money-laundering crimes, limit and monitor property and trace the wealth of criminal activities and take legal action against them in accordance with the provisions of the Anti-Money Laundering Law.
