Agricultural Extension in Port Said: We target 8,7 thousand feddans of maize and strive to increase productivity
Engineer Ali Hassan Suleiman, director of agricultural extension in Port Said said in a statement for "the seventh day", that the national campaign of maize in the agricultural sector for the season 2019 began activities to promote the crop of white and yellow.
Sulaiman said that four pilot fields are being selected for the field of extension of feddan in the agricultural centers located in the graduates and reclamation area. Each center should have the quality of maize yellow and white maize in each center in order to encourage farmers to identify new genetic traits in cultivated fields to increase productivity of feddan .
He added that the free extension service is 5 kilos of seeds for each field of extension of the varieties from the Field Crops Research Institute Department of maize maize to cultivate these varieties in the extension centers.
He pointed out that there is a periodic traffic on these crops by researchers, including Dr. Samir Tharwat and a number of specialists and guides to guide the agricultural to follow up the cultivation of corn maize fields to determine the infection or not and inform farmers of the quality and quality of pesticides used when there is any injury in case of emergence.
For his part, Suleiman said that so far, the overall state of maize, cotton and rice crop for the agricultural season 2019 is in excellent condition and there are no injuries.
In a related context, Sulaiman stressed that maize is considered the first crop among grain crops in terms of its response to genetic improvement to increase the productivity of feddan and all agricultural transactions of irrigation, fertilization and other various processes.
