"It will be a tough game, we have struggled all season to get here, we will do everything to win this cup," Messi told a news conference where he spoke for the first time about Barcelona's severe loss.
"We were very shocked after the Liverpool match. It was very difficult. We heard the criticism go to coach Valverde, but I think he does not take responsibility, but the players have it, and I want him to continue as coach for the new season," Messi said.
"We do not blame ourselves for the picture we left at Anfield. I apologize to the fans of Barcelona for what happened and to break the promise I made to myself at the beginning of the season to bring back the Champions League and win this year," Messi said.
"I will continue with Barcelona and I will not leave because of what happened," Messi said of his future. "It was a disappointment and they are able to overcome it."
